What makes it special: A rare heart-shaped window (“Inome-mado”) said to ward off evil and bring happiness. The seasonal flower displays in the tea room are stunning.

2. Joruri-ji Temple (津澄律寺) – The Temple of Nine Amida Buddhas
Location: Kizugawa City
What makes it special: One of the few temples in Japan with a beautiful pond garden and nine Amida Buddha statues inside a single hall. Quiet, spiritual, and deeply historical.
静かな水庭のあるお寺。青空の下、ゆっくりと心を落ち着けて。
3. Daigo-ji Temple (額下寺) – The Hidden Side of a Famous Temple
Location: Fushimi Ward, Kyoto
What makes it special: While the front side is famous for cherry blossoms, the rear hiking trails and forested paths are rarely crowded. Perfect for a peaceful walk.

4. Housen-in Temple (富春院) – The Framed Garden View
Location: Ohara, Kyoto
What makes it special: A unique “garden within a frame” view from the tatami room. The contrasting colors of moss, trees, and light create a living painting.
この寺院は、広い窓から庭の景色を見る「顏縦の庭」で矩まれます。
5. Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine (長岡天母宮) – The Shrine of Colorful Seasons
Location: Nagaokakyo City
What makes it special: Known for its tunnel of red maples in autumn and bright azaleas in spring. Less crowded but just as breathtaking.
