In Japan, we celebrate Children’s Day (Kodomo no Hi) on May 5th.
Families fly Koinobori (carp streamers) to wish for children’s health and success.
Carp (koi) are strong fish that swim up rivers — Koinobori shows the hope that kids will grow strong too!
日本では5月5日に「こどもの日」をお祝いします。

- Date: May 2–6, 2025
- Location: Okazaki Park (near Heian Shrine)
- Highlight: Over 200 Koinobori flying in the blue sky!
平安神宮の近くにある岡崎公園では、200本以上のこいのぼりが空に泳ぎます。

- Highlight: 1,000 Koinobori flying over the river!
大阪・高槻市の芥川沿いに、約1000本のこいのぼりが飾られます！
川の上を泳ぐたくさんのこいのぼりは、絶好のフォトスポットです。

- Highlight: Kids can join a Koinobori parade and workshops!
大宮交通公園では、こいのぼりパレードやワークショップも開催されます。
お子さんと一緒に日本の文化体験ができますよ！
Access: Kyoto City Bus, “Omiya Kotsu Koen-mae” stop nearby.
